Submissions Q&A
Why are you collecting viewer submissions?
The purpose of collecting submissions is to enrich Writing with Andrew content by allowing us to use your writing—real writing—to illustrate writing concepts and tecniques and to create content that would otherwise be impossible (e.g., creating videos dedicated to giving viewers feedback on their writing).
If I submit, will my work appear on Writing with Andrew?
Due to the volume of submissions, it isn’t possible to include all submissions in Writing with Andrew content. Viewer submissions will be included only as they meet Writing with Andrew content needs and adhere to our content standards.
What will you do with my submission?
Like it says in the agreement, you give us permission to include your work in our content when you submit through this form. Our usage of your work is limited to example, education, and critique—meaning we will only use your submission to enrich our educational purpose. Submissions may appear across our content channels (e.g., in a Writing with Andrew video and/or as a marked-up version on the Writing with Andrew blog). We may use your submission in whole or in part and/or produce modified versions of your work (e.g., presenting the original along with possible revised versions)). If you would like to be credited, please make sure to complete the relevant field in the submission form; otherwise, submissions will remain anonymous.
Are you looking for anything in particular? Is there a limit to what/how much I can submit?
Anything that’s writing will work, but we’re especially interested in pieces that you would still consider to be in the “draft stage”: it’s generally less interesting to give feedback on work that you think is finished. You may submit as many times as you like.
Will submitting limit what I can do with the work?
No. By submitting, you give Goldfinch Media permission to use your work across its content channels, but you remain the owner of the work. That means that we control only how your work is included in our own content. Beyond that, you are still free to do whatever you want with it on your own.
Can I receive private feedback on something I submit through this form?
No. If you are interested in receiving private feedback and don’t want your work appearing in our content, please consider our writing feedback and consultation services.
